Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 2026

The Kendall Wyche Foundation, Inc. ("we," "our") exists to serve children and families navigating Type 1 diabetes. We collect only the information needed to deliver our programs, and we never sell your information.

What we collect

  • Account information. If you create a free family account, we store your email address and sign-in details so you can save your Resilience Bridge™ progress across devices.
  • Program responses. Answers you enter in the Resilience Bridge™ modules and T1D Pivot Play™ are saved privately to your account. If you use the programs without an account, progress stays on your own device.
  • Anonymous check-ins. The optional Moment Check-In and before/after check-ins use a random code stored on your device — not your name — so results cannot be traced back to you.
  • Donation details. Payments are processed securely by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number; we keep the amount, date, and type of gift so you can view your giving history.
  • Form submissions. When you contact us, register for a workshop, or apply for a grant or license, we store the details you provide so our team can respond.

What we never collect

We never ask for glucose values, insulin doses, medical records, or diagnosis documentation. Our programs are educational and resilience-building resources, not medical tools. See our Safety & Program Boundaries page for details.

How we use information

  • To deliver the programs, accounts, and services you request.
  • To respond to your messages, registrations, and applications.
  • To process donations and send receipts.
  • To understand engagement in aggregate, anonymous form — for example, how many participants complete a module. Reports shared with funders contain totals only, never individual responses.

Children's privacy

Our programs are designed for families to use together. Accounts are intended to be created and managed by a parent, guardian, or caregiver. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children, and module content for younger children is written to be explored with a grown-up.

Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information. Family stories you choose to share are never published without your explicit permission, and you can withdraw that permission at any time from your family account. We share information only with the service providers who help us operate the site (such as payment processing and secure hosting), and only as needed for them to perform those services.

Your choices

  • You can use most of our programs without creating an account.
  • You can delete your saved stories and request deletion of your account data.
  • You can unsubscribe from program emails at any time.

To exercise any of these choices, contact us at Info@risingabovediabetes.org or (860) 740-2269.

Data security and retention

Account data is stored with encryption in transit and access controls that limit records to their owners and authorized administrators. We keep information only as long as needed to provide our programs and meet legal or accounting obligations (for example, donation records for tax purposes).

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will post the new version on this page with a revised date. Continued use of the site after an update means you accept the revised policy.
